I asked to waive it since it was 3pm, she went around the corner and 'asked her manager' which I doubt, and said she could cut it to $10 (on checkout I noticed it was actually taxed and turned into $11.20, LOL. Arrived at the Rio around 2:30pm, pretty big line, got to the desk at 3pm and was informed the early check-in fee of $20 would be accessed (there were some signs saying it 'may' be charged, but I assumed by mid-afternoon they would want to be checking in people to avoid an evening rush. Cons: I've gotten used to the resort fee, but Vegas has recently taken it to a whole new level more ways to empty your pockets. Saw Penn and Teller which was really good. Easy trip to the strip, but might as well stay on the strip, by the time you add on all the fees the $20-30 lower room price for Rio becomes insignificant. Pros: stayed in the regular part (not the tower), room is spacious and nice enough, but starting to show it's age. ![]()
